They made about a 1000 SA daggers with that trademark.Does the blade obverse profile look correct or has someone ground off the SA motto and etched the SS one in its place? Can you show a picture of the complete motto side of the blade?

Appears to be a total fake IMO. The motto is so malformed that it looks like a re-trace attempt. The maker mark on the other hand is precisely formed. The entire blade looks to have been ground in a most peculiar way. SA blades by this maker are well produced and put together, nothing like the blade shown.

The tang and where it meets the shoulders is just not right. Notice the overall "flat" look at the juncture. I find it hard to accept this as an authentic blade.

PS A J- there is absolutely no evidence that they made 1000 daggers- it could have been as few as 50 (or less) or as many as 5000 (or more). Anything else is a total guesstimate. Mike

I agree with Mike. There are no production figures that I have ever heard of.
The blade looks like a 3 Finger Louie cast special.

No fond memories for me.
I saw an SS scabbard that he had refinished and reanodized and it was probably the worst job I have seen.

Sorry Mike I should have added "according to Fisher" in my previous post. That motto looks to be too far down the blade and Dave I agree it does look like 3 Finger Louies work
