The Browning HP is probably my most favorite occupation pistol of WWII. Here for display is a decent 42 rig with two magazines one is marked WaA140 the other one is not marked. The pebble grain holster with the letter code jkh is for Carl Busse and the waffenamp is WaA286. I have been told that 42 holsters are hard to come by. In closed is a reply from a fellow collector on the holster which is good info.

Pebble grain holster for the Hi-Power were only made by jkh.

That pattern of holster was adopted by the Germans in 1941, probably in the last 6 months. 41 dated holsters are the hardest to find (in the standard pattern). 1942 dated holsters are the next hardest.

43 and 44 dated holsters are common.

Ones that are even harder to find are those used in 1940 and early 1941 - before the standard holster was approved. In fact most people do not recognize one when they see it.
