Signature EPS/E.Pack grip shape in my opinion. Very distictive.

Seems very rough, though. Is there some sort of orange filler material on it?

That texture of the grip happens when the wood has become excessively dry over the years..grain starts opening up...

Thanks for the replys. For me the whoole dagger looks legit. An other collector means the grip is not an E.Pack grip , may be not a textbook Pack.
On pic 7 you can see the letters "W K S".Anybody seen before ? I am glad to hear other opinions.

I started a thread on grip markings here:

http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/160093573/...970044584#2970044584

I have seen the WKS stampings, and we thought maybe it stood for Wilh Kober Suhl and they subcontracted out grips. Seems E pack wouldn't need to buy grip from another maker, but it's possible. Early Pack grips are often a lighter cherry color, and very round and smooth. But this grip lloks OK. How does it fit back together? If the grip falls in place and the tang is centered in the hole, it's probably the original grip.

Hello,
I have the same Mark "WKS" on a Grip, the marker is Wilhelm Kober, Suhl.

I have na E.P.& S. with WKS stamped on the grip.
And, hey, don't the "Kobers" have a little bit different shape of the grip (lower part)?

Yes, Kobers and Haenels have very distinctive grip shapes, and usually only fit a certain type crossguards..usually K marked ones which have thicker side walls. The grip on this E Pack doesn't really look like one of the Kober ones, and I think it looks correct for this Pack.
