I have seen this on another forum, and would appreciate some input on it. It is on a DD EF helmet. Not a typical EF decal, it has details more like an NS. My question is, is it KM, toned Heer, or darn good fake? Thanks for looking,
Andrew

Looks like a two layered print, the black, and the eagle. Am I on the short bench again ??

I am with you Chris. I can see the layering which is a good sign. IMO this is an OK KM, but I have been wrong before. -Mike

You misunderstand. I don't like the decal, it looks to be high quality repo made of two layers. The black background and then the eagle complete. That's why I sit on the short bench

No sweat, I'm no expert. I learn a lot by these posts as well. Whats an opiniom without a healthy qualifier? First blush, looked good to me. Where is that short bench? Paul

Andrew,
It is an original Heer decal (not KM) which can also be found on NS helmets.

Thanks for the great examples guys. Yes, it's definitely an NS style bird. Glenn your toned example is very similar. I guess what made me think KM, was that even though I don't see the typical black bordering, the eagle really seems to stand out in contrast from the background. However, I'm now thinking that could be just an illusion caused by the misprinted outlining at the top of the wings.
Chris, I understand your feelings on this one, is it possible that what you're seeing could also be an illusion caused by the misprinted border?
By the way, I could not find one example of an NS KM decal for comparison, which leads me to ask, was there ever such a thing? All I can find for examples are the ET and EF styles of KM decals.
Thanks all for your input,
Andrew
