T.G., O.K., I'll bite! I think this a good topic, hey, they can't all be minty, right! I recently picked this up for a song. RZM NSKK M7/40/38 [Hartkopf] Don't know whether it qualifies as a beater/dog, but the price was right! You guy's be the judge! Regards, Leipzig

JR, you just did, buddy! I think it's a fine example, especially considering the price! Just you don't tell how much! Regards, Leipzig

OH COME ON!!!!! Sometimes I think you guys are JUST not TRYING!!!
OK, I hope you guys are just being modest because I think FINALLY I might have you all beaten!!! This WAS a part of my collection until I sold it last year (hope this still counts) I sold it to a guy who LOVES collecting but is on a strict budget (and we all know how SA's are these days!!!) Here she comes, Miss America.... errrr....

I have to say that (on a happy note) this piece was sold right here on GDC for a FAIR price and the new owner has been VERY happy with it. Not everyone can afford (or honestly WEANTS) a MINT piece. To each their own and to each owr own collections. GOod hunting, Johnny

Leipzig- Compared to my fine example your piece neither qualifies as a "beater" nor a "dog". Thus I kindly ask that you take your EXC+ **** and leave this thread!!! Your making the rest of us look BAD!!!

PS- Leipzig, if you think your dagger is a "beater" please send it to me so that I might put the poor beast out of it's misery. I know you'll do the right thing, Johnny

Hey, It's got that "been there" look for sure! Kursk- I think perhaps some german officer tried to cross the border post-war with this dagger and in order to pass security he "keestered" the dagger over the boarder (had to hurt!). By the looks of it, he may have forgotten it for about a month but... none-the-less... It's BEEN there! Oh, I crack myself up!.......

I must apologize as I can´t compete with a SA dagger. However this is my worst item. Until today I do not know, why I spent $5 for this blade ..or let´s say the rest of it. Originally it´s from a short dress bayonet.

Hey Johnny! I saw this thread and was like....whoa! Thats my dagger! I still have this dagger and....love it! Ok, it looks pretty rough, but, as Johnny pointed out, cost of these daggers (especially in New Zealand) are pretty high eh (we dont get the same vet-pickups you guys get). All credit to Johnny, he gave me a great deal on this piece and went above and beyond the call of duty to get it shipped here. Its both the worst and best dagger in my collection (its actually the only SA I have)... I get to play with my dagger on a regular basis, let people handle it, take it to family reunions (heh heh) and not have it sit in a display cabinet, out of reach, worried about it getting stolen or losing value...

Lars! Good to hear from you man! This was a great example of a beginner collector to whom this dagger was a perfect fit. Where most collectors might have parted the piece out this one found a happy home. All in all a good story. Glad to hear that you are still enjoying the dagger. Keep in touch! Johnny
