Hello Gentlemen, I have this plaque of Herman Goering mounted in a frame. The plaque itself is made of aluminium or another light weight metall and then its mounted in this wood frame. The pictures show the plaque in a more yellow tone than in daylight due to bad lightning when i took the photos. Have anyone seen one of these before or have any other information on these plaques feel free to post your info here. Thanks, Hakan

Hakan,
I can't say that I've taken the time to really look at one of the Gring pieces before, but this seems to be a good, period piece. I don't think the frame is original. but it's been there a while and the front looks nice. The frosted-silver finish looks to be authentic, and it looks to be in near-perfect condition. Many of these silvered silhouette-type plaques are to be found in only so-so condition as the finish is very fragile.
If you want to tear the brown paper a bit, you could see if it has a triangular hanging hook at the top? Normally, one of these hanging devices will indicate a good, pre-1945 piece.
I think these are much more difficult to find than the AH plaques, too.
Best!
Bill

I think the frame is original and whoever had it did not realize it had a hook and added the hanging device. It appears to be the proper frame for this piece and based on the condition of the plaque which is far better than most its probably never been apart, Should be able to feel the ring by pressing on the paper rather than ripping it.

Thank you guys for the comments ! The hanger is for sure a modern one but its possible the frame is original. The plaque is retained by small nails under the papper back and you can see one that gone through the papper back on this picture. You cant feel any hanging device under the papper but there have been some other hanger on the frame since there is some holes where its probably been. A collective friend of mine has seen an exact same plaque with the same frame as this but with Adolf.H. instead. Best, Hakan
