There are quite a few things I can see that are bad but the most obvious is the trade mark,, Its pretty ugly. Frown Big Grin

I almost forgot,
Holler didnt produce a Diplomat dagger. Only Eickhorn, ACS, and unmarked blades are right.

Another giveaway is the trademark that says Berlin. The originals say Solingen. You see this type of fake blades on 2nd model luft and army daggers also.

Now over $800, with a "Buy It Now" price of $3000. Sheer lunacy!

Hi All
I know the seller, Talked to him about this.He is selling it for a friend, that told him his father brought it back from WW11.He know now it is a fake, and is trying to get it pulled. He thought E-ban would pull it with the Pic's

Kind of like the Himmler RZM marked dagger on another site! Was up to a little over $400.00 but now it see it's at $250.00! Somebody got smart and retracted their bid!

If these were real the seller wouldn't have any problem getting them pulled. The "Ebay Gestapo" would readily take care of it for himRoll Eyes Big Grin Big Grin

Final price was $ 1232.50 - I wonder how the seller handles it - Maybe now and again the buyer keeps the item - Good for the seller but not so good for the buyer -

I thought a seller could close an auction themselves. Used to be anyway with "item no longer available".

Auction ended with a winning bid of $1,232.50

I contacted him the first day he listed this on E-bay and told him all the reasons why it was a reproduction (plastic grips, pot belly eagle, wrong maker for Diplo, bad maker mark anyway for Holler, etc, etc).

He never contacted me back.

Yeh, there are soo many dummies out there. I am going to make up a wooden "prototype" one day and see how much I can get for it!

Another Private Auction also. No bidders info available. Figures.

Yeah SSMan, I often wonder about that if and when I eBay! eBay says "no shills" and I would like to know just HOW the eBay Gestapo is ging to know? Well as far as I can see, they aren't!
ONLY thing eBay cares about is the "bottom line".

SSman, I actually BOUGHT one of those once. After all, the one I bought was 100% exactly like in Atwood's book! After the buy, I told another friend about it and was told that Atwood's book was bogus with ref that piece. I was able to get my money back, It was from a "friend" no less!

Lloyd. I often wonder how many people got burned by the Atwood fakes and how many are still in collections with the owners thinking they are good?

SSman, IF I haden't been clued in and fast, I would have that piece of Atwood nonsense and would still be thinking, "Wow, I have a real Atwood "guaranteed" Himmler SS. Hell, I had the damn book with me when I picked the piece up. As far as I was concerned, it was REAL! I couldn;t believe how lucky I was! NUTS! Jim's book WAS though, as far as I remember, the first REAL dagger book around. Oh, I know Kleitmann was earlier but Atwood took my breath away when I first saw it! That striking red cover and those three gorgeous daggers! I would have borrowed to buy the book. I now have three copies!
