Hello Slayer, it would'nt bother me a bit, if, in fact the medal was original. I believe the blue ribbon was used for many other medals and should be fairly easy to acquire. Regards, Leipzig

I also own one without the ribbon and it didn't hold me back a second. You can pick up a ribbon at the big shows, but not the medal as easily! Mark

My medal also has a replaced ribbon which is not an issue. The medal in the important thing.

It depends, of course, to some degree, on the price. The seller should take into account the ribbon is a repro and give you a break on the cost. As noted, a replacement authentic ribbon is not difficult to find. You see them sold separately (be careful on those) and with some of the more common medals. Buying an entire medal to acquire the ribbon increases the overall cost of the SS medal.

Was able to pick mine up for a "song" basically because it didn't have a ribbon. The price would have jumped significantly if it had, had its ribbon and one wasn't hard to find or expensive either. Looks good on display! ~ Ian

I,ve since discovered it's not the ribbon thats a repo it's had a repair to the ribbon eyelet I think it has been reattatched, does that alter the overall value of this piece ?
I'm trying to tee up a pic to show you all. Thanks.
