In an effort to figure out the best title for my book on Totenkopf Rings which is currently at Schiffer, I wished to ask the target audience what they would like to see in a title. So, please submit your titles here, and whoever wins the competition will receive a free signed book. The current title is not very imaginative: Totenkopf Ring. Feel free to point members of other forums on rings to this thread.

Craig your very lucky with Schiffer letting you pick the title. The publisher I'm working with not only picks out the title but also the cover design and chapter names and layout! You can make suggestions but he has final say..

Well since I designed the runes and ring logo used on Don Boyle's book, I thought I would give this a shot. "Wear this ring with honor!" was taken from the Death's Head Ring Citation and seems like a good title. A picture of a ring on the cover is a must and Himmler's collar tabs associate the award with him. All graphics were borrowed from the internet so pictures of a real ring and Himmler collar tabs would have to be used. BTW, I also designed the cover on my own book, "The Key".  Now about royalties...

Wow, I'm impressed, guys! Please keep them coming. I asked Drew to remove the graphic, because I don't want to "spoil" it for anybody. Sorry for any confusion (he's doing the cover design). Schiffer was very good to work with, and while I'm sure they have editorial control, they asked me to do the cover-design and title. My only feelings so far:
I would prefer not to use the term "Honor Ring" - I think it's incorrect (although we all use it) and Totenkopf Ring is the better more accurate term - one that is exclusively used in the book.
Also, although the book is done, there is still lots of work to do. After Schiffer does the layout and text editing, the manuscript comes back to me so I can make additions. I've already got two or three people on line to do a complete read-through for accuracy, and to call the "BS" flag if they think I've said something that is totally off-base.
Also, I'm still in need of some of the later-style conferral documents, so if you have one that is either the "latest" style with the faxcimile signature, or the previous style, with the "SS" runes, please let me know!

Hello,
How about "From Munich to Nuremberg: History of the SS Totenkopfring". Munich being the place where Gahr's shop was located as well as the birth of the movement including early SS formations. Nuremberg represented the end of the SS when it's organization was put on trial and declared criminal. The title repesents the Ring but also gives meaning to the Organization behind it's creation in the first place.
