As seen on the inside of the sweatband. Real or repro? Thanks in advance.

Could we see the whole tag please? Normally this is not found in a cap for my understanding, it is normally folded and on a cord attached. Maybe it is an execption, not sure about it.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, what you see is pretty much it. I don't have the cap in my possession. The photo was very slightly cropped so I could post it. There is a portion of the tag missing at the top.

What you see in that photo is all there is.I have the same tag in a cap.It is pasted to the lining behind the sweatband at the back of the cap.It is supposed to be an early (pre-34) RZM tag as the caps these are in are supposed to be 32 pattern SS visors.I have always assumed the tag (and cap for that matter) to be reproduction.Extremely well done....but repro. These caps often sport a diamond shaped card under the sweat-diamond with an early SS eagle printed on the card.Neither the card or the tags glow....but I swear the tag(like the one posted)appear to be made of "earth-friendly" recycled paper.Robert, if these tags are an actual type of tag found on Allg. SS accoutrements please educate us.I am not up to speed on the Allg. SS items as I would like to be.Robert,I personally would like to learn more about SS collar tabs(pre 40) if possible could you contribute to the thread I am trying to start on the subject in this forum under the title "Question regarding early SS collar tabs".Thanks for any help,Dave T.

Thanks, Dave. From the photos, all I can see is the sweat shield alone. Nothing under it. But it does appear to be celluloid.

Those are period RZM tags that were used as Robert stated.

So, could it be the tag is authentic, but applied incorrectly to a perhaps reproduction cap?

As ksfinley & Robert H. mentioned, the tags are period originals,- I have 4 of them here, identical, that I've had for probably 45 years or so. They were in a box of unissued collar tabs, shoulder boards, paper sacks of unissued buttons (with a different long RZM tag,) HJ, BdM, & SA sleeve insignias, Party swastika pennants, etc. that a veteran scoffed out of a storefront that sold Party things, after breaking the glass, to get in. I have always thought they may have been used for gluing onto the edge of a box of some political RZM "things", but they could have been used in the manner as per what Robert H. has said. Or maybe they fell off of something that was in that big box of cloth stuff. I don't know why one is on a cap. ?? The width seems to be a perfect width to put on a capband tho. If these are truly cap tags, then they must have been for very early RZM production. ?? The serial nr's on mine are 32279, 32281, 32286, & 354902. Amazing to see one of these.

Interesting. The stamped numbers, including those on the tag I posted, seem to come from the same series or block as yours.

Dave T., I'll take pics of the 4 I have with my not-so-great camera, & email them to you, & you may post them if you wish.

Robert H., what is an exact translation of "Fr den Verkauf freigegeben??" My 3d generation Schlesien translation attempt will most likely not be an acceptable translation, so I won't even try.

I have posted it in the German translation forum. I have a "guesstimate" of the gist of it, but will wait and see.
