Never saw the early Eickhorn reissue in person until I bought this dagger. I did read the contributions on the forum from Ron Weinand about how these Eickhorns were leftover SS Rohm's later issued in 1936. Yes, it's benchmarked number 3. The blade is near mint and overall very nice. The negatives are the obverse grip has small chips at the crossguards and the lower scabbard fitting is missing one screw.

Aha, I saw that one briefly on eBan, what a great blade! I'm not sure why the grip had a much harder life than the blade, but to me, the blade is most important. I think now that I know a little more about these variations, I want one, so let me know if you get tired of looking at this one. ;-) John

Thanks John, that's the one - Surprised there is not more posts on this, thought it was pretty rare mark. Have had a couple emails to sell and one to send detailed photos for reference files.

Jeff..That is a nice one, even with the handle.
Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. And remember the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
