hi to all,
i'm looking for a blade to complete a denazified km daggerd , i find this one on ebay, the seller tell that is damast, in your opinion is original or post war, it's correct to put this type on a normal km daggers? there is no mark on this blade only a number 3 .

please give me your opinion

eughen, I think there are not many collectors who are experienced with damast steel. I am also not experienced but as there is no other reply let me tell you my thoughts when looking at these pics:
I think it is uncommon for period blades that there is no smith�s stamp like e.g. C+W or the whole name and "ECHT DAMAST" or "ECHT DAMASZENER" or something like this stamped in the tang. Sometimes this stamping is partially or totally erased by fitting the blade tang but here are no such signs for me. On the other hand the damast does NOT look like the many faked damast blades obviously coming from india and put into IIIR edged weapons. Looks like small rosebud to me and from the whole pattern I would like the blade. The blade/scabbard loker looks somehow strange to me. BUT to make any close to sure statement it would need to hold the blade in hands, make the "smell-test" and careful checking and comparing to period blades.
