I never had to restore anything as I collect mostly minty things, but I came across a patch that's stained. I tried doing forum search and read old threads but not much comes up on stain removal. Here is the pic of the patch - the stain seems like like some grease that was rubbed in by accident. Can anybody recomend how to get rid of it?

I'd look for some stain remover. There are some small "one drop" agents to all different types of stains (grease, blood, wine, ink etc.). Don't know, unfortunately, any names of the brands available in Canada. There is one stained SA armband on the way to me, so when it arrives I'm gonna make some tests.

Thanks for the imput. I was thinking of just going at it with some soap - but will check out a local harware store for some cleaners.

I'd suggest that you 'Pre-Screen' the lasting effects of the Spot remover on a very, very small Part of the Stain - if at all possible. Then leave it to dry over night.
"IF" no damage or degradation to your Patch ... place a little more on the stain. Little by Little so you can STOP ... if you see a result that you do not like. Dave / dblmed

Hello,
Grease stains would be very hard to remove especially if they are set.
An absorbant powder may lift a little but will still leave most of the stain there.
Washing can soften, lift and SPREAD the stain. It might be wise to leave it as is.
Best Wishes

rather than "getting out" maybe try "covering over."
there are laundry marking pens in different colors you can find at fabric stoes and the like. or go on line. these pens are "felt tip" or similar and compatible with most cloth materials.
