I just picked this podium banner up from an 82nd division vet recently. Does anyone know if it's political or what group would have used such a banner. It's cotton and has nicely applied gold trimmings. Also an insurance estimate would be a great help also.

I have seen this type of banner used by both the SA and the party itself..i would say more often seen at political functions..

Thanks for the information, overall the flag is in great condition, just has a couple of small holes. I really like this one!

Great banner!!... Doug, your thoughts on this please...Did this not become a popular style Party banner in conjunction with the 1933 rise to power and Party Congress meeting at Nurnberg & "The Victory of Faith"? Style seems close as seen in old news reels. Buddy

Hi Buddy..yes, i think this style of banner became more associated with the NSDAP movement as opposed to components of it (i.e. the SA..)
It does pop up from time to time in SA pics, as does the eagle from the war service flag.
It is interesting to note that many of these banners are to be found for various Gau days or official 'May day' celebrations, it seems they were not for everyday usage.
