Hello all, picked this up last week off my ad here, I've been doing some research on it and investigating, it was made in 1520 by Sanjo Nagayoshi Saku (think I got the spelling right). Thought I would finally share it here, still havn't found out what it's worth but at this point I'm just happy to have found a beauty like this. Enjoy the pics.

Last one, unfortunatly it has been shortend at least twice by the fact there is 3 holes but it is what it is. The cutting edge is 20.5" and the total length is 27.5" long, bummer it was cut down but thats what they did.

How long is the cutting edge? Looks like the blade was much (suriage) longer at one time and the horimono was added at much later date. I hope the length is over 24 inches! Nice sword, very lucky to find today. Max

Max, the cutting edge is 20.5" and the total length is 27.5", I've been told by a couple people that the engraving is original to the piece, had a guy over the opther night who collects these and he told me the same, yea it's a bummer they shrtened it but like I said they did that sometimes but it is what it is, still a darn nice blade.
