while i like this one a whole lot better than the tan one,,,i thought the dd paras where in luft blue-grey,not green as this one appears to be,,,i also have a problem with the markings on the liner,,,i have been led to believe that the liner will have either the rbn # or the makers full name, but not both as it appears to me to be the case here,,,also the wear to the decals bother me,,lots of scratches & abrasions around them but not too much on the insignias themselves,,,i could be totally wrong about these observations,,,,but just my humble opinion that this is a well done replica job...but it may be a totally authentic piece,,,this is why i stay away from most of these unless they can be had for a song or the provenance is impeccable,,,,

Thanks for your thoughts on it. I have very little experience with para stuff, so thanks for your thoughts. Perhaps other experts can chime in on this one? Thanks

I'd be ultra cautious on this one as well... (well in fact i'd run away... ) For some of the reasons stated, very uniform scratching .. except the decals. And it looks like it an ET 71 which is always suspect ....as the Czech fakes normally marked like that. And the "1" looks likes like it has a line at the base of the "1", Thanks means Bad... Mark

Lewis,
Just about all helmets are marked by the maker and the size.
This one is marked by "ET" , Size "71"
ET = The maunfaturer "Eisenhttenwerke" in Thale (the biggest maunfacturer of helmets.)

Lewis learn all you can and take the advise.Better to not have one in the heat of buying. It can be a costly lesson.

Yes, the whole thing is a Czech fake. In that photo, I can make out the shell stamping. The numeral "1" in the ET71 has a foot, or base on it. Sure sign of a first generation Czech fake. They have subsequently corrected this error, and now fakes are found with better markings. There are no original atoms in that helmet, either.

Thanks guys, i will certainly take advice before buying a para helmet.
With regards to the Czech fakes, are they specifically made as fakes or are they ex-czech military? Can these czech fakes be bought online/shop or are they always sold as 'real'?

They are made as fakes, 100 percent to rip people off.

This helmet is one one of the better fakes but still do not be fooled here. As pointed out by the other members. The first thing that gives this one away is the wear to the shell in comparison to the wear on the decal. Look closely to the strikes to the paint as you can start to see a pattern. I don't know if it is me but the paint looks to have a a brass or copper residue on the paint it may be a bit of rust but it does not look like it. Saying this it looks a though a bras cain or copper pip[e was used to do the strike to the paint to age it. Also the size and type stamping font looks bad it looks to small and clean to me. also the spanner blot look strange, almost flat...For me , this does not fit right in my gut, when you get a feeling like that walk away.
