Sorry I havent been around I am indefinately suspended for making Dave Hohaus angry after trying to moderate a thread that was being flamed by a guy who doesnt collect SS cloth and sharing my opinion in how the forum was going downhill with him openly also, to be fair I violated the rules when my suspension was supposed to be up first in Easter then in June now indefinately. I tried to register under different names so I could retrieve some of my photos.Since our moderators have been conspicuously absent for some time. Ive been in contact with Fred Fokelman who sold me a beautiful tunic and I asked to be reinstated but this was denied when he brought the question to Dave. For some reason I can post a thread but am blocked from responding to the threads of others. I also appreciate the support of Gaspare and others who have contacted me wondering where Ive been.Anyway before this gets deleted I wanted to say hello and Ive been over at WAF and the new German Headgear Forum.

Also, it is good to see you on here. I don't know what the politics are but you are a huge asset to this site and much like the disappearing veterans,a fountain of kowledge that should be appreciated. Where is the headgear forum as I am interested in that?

John has informed me that he has been expelled from the forum and can not post anymore. I for one think that is a mistake. John is a very knowledgeable and decent person, as well as a good friend.

What the hell is going on? John was suspended.. He must have been reinstated in order to post yesterday!?! What happened from 14 July 2007 23:25 to today?!?

Whats the sence what is going on with this GDM SS section forum? Are the moderators still alive by the way? Where is their activity to hold it more attractiv? Why somebody is getting banned when he just posted again and is giving activity to this SS forum? For this moderator activity everybody could held this position.

Well we have a guy who made good contributions to the forum got a bit out of line is suspended,humbles himself going public and gets the boot again.WHY?????

Good to hear from John and see a great looking tunic! I assume that since John said he can start a thread but not respond to any that he was and is still suspended regardless of this post? Thats a shame as I would love to see more of this tunic. Now if I could just find an original unmessed with SS tunic to buy for my own collection (if there is still such a thing)!!

it's booming now, not here. In this SS forum, you used to see 15-20 new posts daily, now not that many in a week sometimes. Anyway, don't know why I'm still here. Maybe I'll be banned now for expressing an opinion too!! OH WELL

Hello, its doubtful Dave H. will reprint the vile, insulting remark from Jonpic79 that hastened his banishment a few months ago from this fine site. His insult was directed to "All German dagger and edged weapons collectors" and suggested the reader(us)visualise the "cleanliness" of Jonpic's "...." vs All German dagger and edged weapons collector's "..." And he wasnt refering to his armpits. He did this on a site that is actually named German Daggers.com. Unforgivable insult. best Bill Bourque

Well nobody's perfect. Yea, John has an "edge" at times. However his contribution to SS cloth has far outweight his transgressions..In my opinion. Should we no try to open our arms up to old valuable members such as johnpic and let bygones be bygones?

John is indeed banned and he mentioned a few of the reasons above. About a month ago he contacted me and said:

"Hello Dave, My reasons for wanting my membership restored are purely selfish.Over the years I have contributed numerous photos of tunics and insignias to the SS forum. I have since lost my files when I made a computer change due to bad hard drive on my other. I need to copy the pictures Ive posted into my files to restore what I had."

When I asked him if he would obey the Code of Conduct he replied:

" haven't changed, but if you want me to just shut up and lurk I would be happy to do that so I can retrieve my lost archives."

I agreed, and on that promise, I turned his account back on. You can see the result above.

I have discussed this in depth with Vern, both before turning his account back on and after he broke his promise. JohnPic is banned.
