WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD REFERENCE BOOK ON SS DAGGERS FOR A BEGINNER? A BOOK THAT IS WELL DETAILED WITH CLEAR ILLUSTRATIONS, WITH COLOR PICTURES?

First thing that comes to mind is the Wittman book, "Exploring the dress daggers and swords of the German SS" Great pictures, but most in black and white. You have not heard of it, and have been a member here for a few years? Big Grin Well worth the $100 or so bucks! I bet you could pick up a used one for cheaper. One of my favorite books!

Thomas Whittmans's book on SS daggers is the best book on the market that I know of. It is pricy. I think it runs between $130 and $150.

Thanks, Blademan

Blademan is right, it is closer to $130-$150, but still worth every penny! I think I remember hearing that Paul at Lakesidetrader has the best price on it (new).

There is only one worth buying and that's Tom Wittmann's, as noted above.
