New addition to the "Bunker" a III Reich Stein reflecting the Reichskriegsflag and infantry in action - owners name is engraved on the lip of the lid which also reflects a raised helmet w/eagle/swaz decal and surrounded by oakleaves. The dedications reads: 15(E) Komp.J.R.42,HOF and around the bottom: Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit. As a note: really miss Roland and his knowledge of Steins/Mugs.

A wonderful stein Horst. This is the nicest regimental of all the "HOF" Stein's that I have seen. I has just a little more detail than most. Hof of course is a city in northern Bavaria and was one of the first and most fanatical Nazi strongholds. Almost as ardent as the City of Cobury. I also like the engraved name, even though with the light I can not make out the entire name. Is it "Luipold?" Regardless it is a nice addition to your collection...congrats. Roland.

Roland: I think you mean Coburg, right? Here are pics of a stein from a soldat who served in Infanty Regiment #95 in Coburg 1938-1938. It's somewhat unusual in that the body of the stein is a Mettlach.

Texas you are right of course...Coburg...how could I...one of my favorite Cities in Germany. I still have several relatives there. The Vestung...Rosengarten.
Also a very nice stein. And yes it is a mettlach. I got one the other day with a helmet on top from Andre Ammelounx. (but it was NOT from Coburg) Thanx for your post Texas. Good seeing you after a long abscence here. Roland.
