Hi Ed,your knife is from Norway,and it says July 1942. Maybe is something to do with remembrance of the Battle of Stalingrad.you should email Ulf he might be able to help,Regards nats

Sorry to be late on this, but I just saw it. I dont think it says "July 1942", but "Christmas 1942". I have one exactly the same. The word "Jul" up here in the ultima thule means christmas. "Julen" is like "the christmas".
