The silver paint on the underside almost looks new so I might have been fooled here.

If it's the real deal, it is super neat. Never saw anything like that in my 35 years of collecting. If it's not, it is still neat. I could see this in a military effects or tailor shop.

Never seen anything like it myself either. Would be a super display for something with an etched blade.

Thank you for the kind words. I too liked it, I'd just had to have it.

But I must confess that missread the descriptin on the auction that I bought this item from. I thought it said Solingen not Solling :-)

Does this logo have anything to do with SMF maker and Sollingen do you think?

Thanks Bjrn

Bjrn,

I don't believe this stand has anything to do with SMF, which stands for Stcker & Co., Solinger Metallwarenfabrik, GmbH. Sorry man, but still a cool piece.

Nice stand in art deco style; nice dagger too!
