Dave, Pete, that was an enjoyable display of tinnies! Most of them I have never seen before. Soon as I get my thoughts gathered I will ask some questions.
For now my thanks and regards, Joe.

I rattled the plastic container my tinnies reside in but nothing new shook out. Frown
I will post this one even though it has been seen before. We'll give it a close up look. Wink

Fantastic thread. 10 years ago this kind of info was simply nor available. most of the books would have been black and white.

It sure would be helpful if you could tell us non-initiated observers what these are. Some guys have but others have not.

Dave Hohaus, guess we'll have to work on descriptions. Wink
Most tinnies (event badges) tell a story through words and images and cover a set period in time. Others were reissued for similar events on different dates.
Some that do not say anything are anybodys guess. Smile

Any one wish to add anything?

Dave H, that hand made tinnie is a nice piece to own. Never seen one marked that way!

Pete, I like the uncomplicated but stand out design of post #12, the SA and post #30, the Flugtag Cottbus tinnies.

Would the KdF tinnie post #35, be made of an unglazed ceramic material?

Thanks again to all, for sharing these great and interesting items!

Hi Joe, I first thought that the KdF was plaster, but upon inspection, I think its paper mache (pressmasse)
For Dave a description of post 35. The green heart. Thuringen was described as the green heart of the country, and had, presumably, nice countryside, and was evidently a favorite spot for visitors, hence the KdF (Kraft durch Freude) taking people for visits there. Now here I get a little hazy. I believe that the KdF was organised to take factory etc. workers, who could not afford proper holidays on free or subsidised vacations to different places, not only inside Germany, but abroard as well.
I dont think I'll be doing this for each tinnie!
Anyway another:- for a trip to motor show in Berlin?
Regards,
Pete

Here's one.

I think that it's from a sporting event for the Franken group.

I believe that it was struck from a metal that is similar to tombac.

The print on the catch plate in back reads...

Here's another.

I have no clue about this one. Clearly it's an HJ. But, I have not yet translated the writing. Any ideas?

Robert, both nice pieces! SA related tinnies command a high price.
The HJ tinnie refers to a sports event for Austria.
-----------------------
Sport Westkampf (west fight), training?
Kampf must not translate well into English.
(See correction, 5 posts below).
Tirol and Vorarlberg are both western states of Austria. (See attached link).

Thanks for showing these interesting items.

It's not "Sport Westkampf", it's "Sport wettkampfe", it means 'Sports Competition'. The design of the eagle on this white plastic badge is of the Tirolean eagle.

After the Putsch in München and Hitler's prison-time,to get the power, the Nazis made a new start in 1925 .....this time on the "legal" political way.
This tinnie; Celebration of 10 years NSDAP in Thüringen 1925 - 1935.

Benten, I like the symbolism represented on both of these tinnies.
The strength of the eagle clutching the laurel leaves , the crest.
The wheat stalk, sword and hammer. Much design thought went into these items.

Joe thanks for your reply.

I post the Thüringen tinnie here again, for the next reason....
In the corner of the picture you see the official old coat of arms used in Thüringen from the Middle Ages .
The Nazis showed this old symbol in their own vision of history !! ...the old lion got a swastika.
In fact it is history-forgery........but it makes the tinnie more interesting. Smile

Cheers,
Benten
