Alright all of you brain cases, I need you to use your finely honed eagle eyes and tell me whatever you can about this SA dagger. Think of it like a Mid-Term in the class of "SA dagger telling stuff about"! Wink

Here's a photobucket album with 20+ pics of the dagger in question.

I agree with Adam and Mike, it's a very nice early dagger with most of the factory lacquer on the scabbard and uncleaned fittings, grip fits perfect and the pommel looks unturned. That's about all there is to tell, don't know the current mcsaar rating don't have the updated list but the old list says it's a 10 on the rareity scale.

Leave it as is and wipe the blade where you touched it plus wax the blade to protect it with Ren wax or Nu finish car wax.

Damn you guys are good! It's like a whole pack of dagger sniffing Sherlock Holmes/Bloodhound hybrids!

The info is GREAT! I don't really know anything about these daggers aside from what I'm now learning on the net and from you guys. Here are a few questions you might be able to answer.

What is the "rarity scale"? And does 10/10 mean that it is very rare? Do things like the unusual makers mark and rarity scale make
it LESS valuable or MORE valuable? Even though I have no intention of parting with it, what would the value of this dagger be these days?

I'm surprised to hear that it's not a huge mass produced piece. Compared to the other maker's marks I've seen on the net, it's by far the most "professional" looking. I had assumed that it was one of the large companies instead of a small local maker.

Again, thanks for all of this wonderful information. It looks like I've found a new hobby.

Ivbaust,
Nice to see a rare maker on a NSKK with a triple black hanger.

Here's a peek at my "Zander" SA. Note the blade fit.

I think so Jim.
Or "Hey! It's 5:00 o'clock!" Big Grin

(This is for those who think early daggers didn't leave the factory like this. Wink)
