Hello Uniform Guru's!! I have some pics of a childhood friends Grandfather who had properties in the Baltic states. He was in a SS calvery unit during the war and I am showing some of his more unusual medals(and pics of him!) in the 3rd reich medal forum, please look and ad info there if you can! Anyways,I am asking for any and all info on the gentlemans uniform with the "110" on his collar. Era of uniform(year?),what group or area did he serve in? Rank? This is info for the family of this man! THANKS for your help! Kevin.

110.SS-Standarte for the prewar shot (Allgemeine-SS). Impossible for me to tell from the photos with a horse a date, could be anywhere from the original September 1939 SS-Totenkopfreiterstandarte in Poland, the 1941 formed SS-Kavallerie Brigade, through the later three SS cavalry divisions that formed in 1942, 1944, and 1945.

Superb Photos - Thanks for sharing them with us!
We learn soooooo much from TR photos - we see the way that it 'was' - and not always the way that even the TR period books, say that it should be.
The Policeman in the lower right of your photo would be GREAT to post on the Police Uniform Forum. Super details & it looks like he has a Zeltban? over his shoulder.
Many Thanks... Dave/dblmed
