Thanks to All, so far! Smile Yes, I forgot crossguard markings! Mine are H.E., also. kumatrax, funny you should use the term "split-tail", when I was younger[much younger] we used that term as slang for a certain part of the female anatomy! Eek Big Grin Regards, Leipzig

hi all, i think we should have a more accurate title to this thread. im sure lots of people who have himmlers would love to share their items, but may just be cruising by and not get it. it would also be a great resource for all of us to start posting pictures of our daggers. i can start, as i posted my dagger under the heading "himmler casts" in a previous thread. i would love to see pics of all, especially grumpy's!

Here you go. The "serrated tail" has the "high-neck" grip eagle. The "smooth tail" grip has the "pointed head" eagle. Both have their original "anodized" scabbards and early nickel-silver hangers (non-snout nose).

Himmler dagger 2 w/serrated tail. Sorry, the above 2 photos are of this dagger. Tried to delete them, but it didn't work. This dagger does not photograph well, due to the original gray darkening in the etch.

A pleasure to view your Himmler collection Grumpy. I wonder if anyone owns or has seen one that has an SS serial number?

Hi, I am suitably chastised. I wont make up any new descriptive terms off on my own. I have to admit, I do prefer my own description in this case, and would would welcome the community to switch from "serrated" to "split tail". It just sounds better.
