I dont think Ive posted this here since Matt M. helped me post up my old original pics several years back. This is the helmet that got me into the TR combat helmet mix in August of '03.
Here are some good pics of it.
It is a vet sendback from Belgium in 1945 according to the APO on the certificate.
This was sourced from a pile of junk in a hole-in-the-wall antique store that was awaiting pricing/sorting etc.
I got a pretty good deal. Smile

Liner is 1943.

Cheers, Guys.
The capture papers with it really kick this up several notches for me.
As per the seller: 'A lady just dropped this off. I want $150...oh wait it came with this paper so that makes it worth more - I need $175 I guess, plus sales tax. Is that ok?'...I accepted. Razz Big Grin
The honeymoon has never ended on this one.

Thanks guys.
Its too bad that in my frenzy of trying to 'preserve' it I treated the liner...I look back at that day in horror...but at least I did not dissasemble the helmet and attack it with a soapy sponge or something. Big Grin
...Ehem, the old guy(s) already have an abundance of camos I think I would only trade for a nice DD and one miiilliion dollars. Wink Razz

Howdy again Derek; Guys I've had the pleasure of an "on hand inspection" of Dereks helmet and it is really a stunner. That is why I've been after himto get it! (In a respectable way that is) I dont blame him though, My first is a M40 heer I wouldnt trade for anything too. Jerry
