So far I have only found 1 picture of a similar Overhoff in painted steel , and I am not comfortable with this one yet . Catch & marking seem to be O.K. , but this one has a thinner surrounding rope . Is this a known repro ? Opinions welcome !

Hello, by the pics posted the buckle appears perfectly legit. Best Ric

First , here's another pic. of my own item - different angle . I do want to be sure about this , because IF mine is an original , it has one seriously interesting feature !

There's nothing untoward my failing eyes can detect. So why don't you enlighten us on this very special aspect?
Best regards, Karl

Well spotted ! Only - it is NOT the " normal " clip-on type . Here's one of those , as posted by Karl Jasper on a zinc version of M4/27 . More pics of my version tomorrow - it's getting really late here ..

Here it is - pasted underneath the prongs ! NSDAP blue , not HJ orange-red . First thought was that someone slipped it in as an extra , but the label is properly marked M4/27 .. Has anyone seen one like this before ?

I have seen this type of tag glued on before on HJ buckles (and sadly cometimes come half loose and half still on )and if the numbers correspond to the rzm code on the buckle then I would see no problem. Cheers, John

Thanks John ! Maybe they ran out of proper tags that day , since this would normally have been used for cloth items - category " B " ( upper left corner ) ? It now has an additional marking " M 4/27 " for Metal . Strange . An overall view ..
