Looks to me like the photo showing the makers mark is reversed. I think it says 'Berlin', if so, repro.

I've flipped the image so you can read it properly.

It´s a total copy. Maker mark, grip, crossguard parts, overall appearance, all from the well known copies. Therefore it is not interesting what has happened to this scabbard. Regards,

Here is a similar pair of Weyersburgs, the top being original, this picture and others showing parts comparisons are for a section of my web page on reproduction awareness that I am working on. Although most of the Weyersburg copies are easy to spot, the white gripped dagger shown below with select photos would fool most. The makers mark on this example also bears the correct Solingen TM........Scary!.

Degens, are you saying the white gripped dagger in your pic is a total repro?
Many a time I've slagged off those scabbard bands and been lambasted, Ive never seen them on a genuine Luft!!

Blueboy, Damn annoying aint it, 5 corrects is the most so far, I might have to slow it down a bit, I forget most of the forum is geriatric . The white dagger is indeed the repro, in hand its a little easier to spot, even the maker mark without a side by side comparison is passable. Tell tale signs to name a few, blade tang, scabbard bands, grip material and general finish. Its still the best one I have ever seen!, and I have an even more convincing army by Holler.

degens, i can only watch it `cycle` about three times, before my ears start to slowly flap, and i can`t get even one!!
and as for the repro, the hangar suspension loops look way oversize to me.
