Could I get an opinion on a Nahkampfer Dagger? Possible age I assume it is pre WW II. Also what would be the estimated value? This is a Stag Handle double edge dagger. On one side is etched a German soldier in a wooded area and below the word Nahkampher. On the reverse is the maker mark Anton Wingen J8, Fabrik Feiner, Stahlwaren, Solingen.
The scabbard is in good shape it has a little paint chipping. All the leather is in great shape one of the rivets has pulled through on one of the retaining straps but it still work to hold the knife in place. Pics to follow

I've seen a few of these over the years and think they are pretty neat with the unusual shaped metal scabbard and the blade etch. cant figure the period for shure though. I havent held one in hand either. they certainly seem to be of the prewar era,but could have been turned out in the 50's or 60's to look that way. They seem to bring upwards of 100$$. when they do pop up. Interesting, like to hear more opinions on it! Kevin.
