Hi Folks Im looking for opinions on this EKII case, the hinges look good but the case looks curiously marked or roughed up, not sure if this scuffing is original, I have seen a few of these cases, but some of them have white ribbon strips to hold the ribbon in the upper lid ? any opinions appreciated
thanks Chris.

EKII cases are IMO very rare items. Can you show the catch straight on?

Joe, Yes these are pretty tough. This one dosn't look like the one I used to own, mine looked exactly like the one pictures in Angolias book For Fuhrer and Fatherland. I have a pic some in my files I'll see if I can find it and post it. I've never seen one with the loops like this one, usually they are just white straps accross the lid for the ribbon, but this one is an LDO case which may be alittle different but I'm not sure. JMO

Hi Guys many thanks for your pictures and comments, this one is listed on a dealer site or I wouldnt have looked at it. The ones I have seen before have the white ribons on the lid, the scuffing is also pretty suspicious I think. Oh well, if anyone has a good one of these cases I would be interested in picking it up. All in all I thought the hinges looked not so bad on it.
thanks folks

this case looks reminiscient of the ones that rex reddick sold & others also,,,the ribbon straps on this is different style than on the repros but i believe these could be replacements to throw off the scent of a repro case,,,i dont like the wear to the case, seems artificial,,,,just my 2 pfennigs,,,,robert

Fritziii, were the white bands more of an elastic material? e-mail in the instance you would rather not divulge the material online for the benefit of repro. varmints.
Chris, while I would like to own one myself, odds are I will not be able to afford it, so if one becomes available that appears to have promise I will give you a heads up here on the forum.

Hi Guys I came across a further different design for the EKII case, I would like to have your views on, the ribbon instead on in the lid retained by the elastics, its more like a ww1 ek2 case, but without any lid or silk interior markings, any opions appreciated as always

This style has been noted with Third Reich EKII's. Can you post a front on view of the catch? Is the interior base loose? Does the interior base section feel substantial or flimsy?

The catch appears to be pointed at the apex rather than rounded which makes it by collective consensus, a reproduction.
