hi walterlo,,,the badge lacks some fine details in the eagle, the smashed rivets on the back look too crude, there are examples of mashed rivets, but i have never seen any like this,,look at the back of the badge closely, you will see some sloppy work around the swas, and the 2 most glaring items that struck me was the makers mark,,never have i seen that and could not find it in a book that shows just about all luft makers, and the pin catch is a style that is used on 1957 period West German made badges,,anytime i see this style of catch,on any badge,i run away,,,perhaps more collectors will comment on that piece,,RObert

As stated above, there are many issues denoting the badge to be a reproduction i.e. incorrect pin style and catch device, ridiculous rivets, poor quality and definition of the badge and most importantly, the "SOG' in a triangle trade mark is a very well known bad marking going back perhaps 30+ years or so. This particular manufacturer's marking is most well known on early reproduction Pilot-Observer badges that were made in light weight metal.
In summation, there isn't any further needed discussion as to the badge's attributes for it is undoubtedly a 100% reproduction.
Sorry but best regards,
John
