My apology in advance for getting off the militaria theme but I would like the chance to do what I can so a young boy did not die in vain.

A freind that stood up in my wedding,Rick Calhoun, buried his 4 year old grandson Dominick yesterday after he was brutally beaten and totured last weekend.

The kid, who seemed to have had it rough to start with, was burned, stomped, teeth knocked out, kicked in the groin, punched over and over during the course of an entire weekend and people who heard something are reported as saying they did not want to get involved in domestic issues.

Beleive me the more thats learned the more pathetic and sad it gets.

How can you burn a child and not hear a scream??
I really don't know how they are going to be able to live with themselves.
Neighbors are just feet away in this apartment complex and never bother to lift a finger to save this poor defenseless and innocent child.

I know we hear this kind of news all too often to the point where it loses it's importance or impact but this has come as a reminder that this could happen to someone you know or love.

Thank you for letting me get the message out reminding that it's better safe than sorry.

Sad story, condolences to your friends and his family. Its unfortunate that it happened here in Michigan where there isn't Capital Punishment. Because this perp. deserves complete and fully Retribution, he makes me sick.

Broken homes,broken promises,broken lives is a disease that unfortunately pervades our society today. Every time I hear or read about this kind of horror story one of the first thoughts that crosses my mind is "Is there a "boyfriend" involved?
I don't claim to be able to comprehend why an individual would take up with a fiend with these tendencys or entrust them with the care of a young child but this apparentely occurs all too often today. I have my own views about the moral lapses that are tolerated all too readily in todays society but since this is a militaria forum I'll withold them.

I sure you will see in the paper how Brandon was trying to turn his life around and would make sure he took his grandmother to church every Sunday and what a rough life he had.That's what we usually see in S.Florida papers when this type of crime happens.Let's hope he doesn't get a judge who's to lenient.Child beater are not to well received in jail by other inmates and were was the mother.

I really wonder what here is going on with some people, just view days ago a lady was falling in sleep in her car in front of me at the red traffic light. Some city's look like Berlin in 44, many aggressions everywhere,shootings, crashed family's ...

I make no excuses for this beast, but it is one of many examples of violence begetting violence. It is difficult for one who was raised in something approaching a normal upbringing to relate to those raised in a violent environment and being victimized themselves. Abused children often become abusive parents. Daughters of abused wives seek out abusive husbands and usually stay with them, no matter how bad the abuse gets. Sons of fathers who abuse their wives will likely become abusive husbands. Often, alcohol and drugs are contributing factors. In the end, the abusers "replay" what they experienced or witnessed as youngsters. A vicious cycle, to be sure. However, the innocent must be protected and abusers must be punished, especially when it comes to children. An abused spouse can leave, but seldom does. An abused child is truly a helpless victim with few or no options. Even sadder, when the abuser is released from jail, he will return home and the abuse cycle will start all over. All too often, the abuser eventually will kill his victim(s). All of this is in the domestic setting. There is also the predator setting where a neighbor, relative or stranger abuses, assaults or kills a child. Both scenarios are disgusting. It is difficult for most to be compassionate toward the predator, regardless of his background or experiences.

Grumpy yes, statistics proof this matter that mostly ex friends or husbands or even family relatives the the murderers. It's just so sick what this guy did. I just read some days ago that in MI every week one female was getting killed in 97 or 98 from her boyfriend,man or ex.
And going to the church makes no one better...

Its a horrible cycle, when it starts from the top ( with parents that dont care ) and ends in tears. A true Coward beats women and children and will receive the same, where he is going! The mother is just as much at fault, for opening the door to let a rat into the house. Society is not to blame for this one.

This my be the worst thing that I ever heard and I truly hope justice is served. May God bless the little boy and his family.

It is my opinion that all of the terrible things this piece of pond scum did to this innocent defenseless child should be done to him on a daily basis short of giving him the mercy of death for the rest of his undeserving life.

I, and I'm sure many others, would love to spend just a few minutes of quality time with this "mothers boyfriend" ,, And with any luck, justice will be served by a fellow inmate in due time.

They can and do last long.
They are completely segregated from the general population, and put amongst their fellow child abusers - So someones got to be pretty enterprising to get a whack at him.
After a while, alot of these guys feel safe, and actually ask to be put in the general prison population.
Thats how pond scum Dahmer eventually got it.

There will always be those out there without a consceince and nothing will change the horror and suffering this poor victim went through.
What is surprising though is no one cared enough to call police or knock on the door to put an end to it.
A monster spends a weekend beating a mother and child in a small apartment and not one person does a thing to end it.I know it was heard.

What did they do turn the radio or TV way up to drowned out the horrific noises so they don't have to get involved? This took an entire weekend to play out,not 15 minutes.
That's what is equally distubing and almost as hard to believe.
I look at it as a powerful reminder to do what we know is right.
Like everyone has said justice will prevail.If not mans then gods.

I have 3 kids 6-4-1 and anytime I hear of such evil crimes against kids it really sickens me. IMO the people who did nothing are just as guilty.

More proof the devil does exist. At least the child is with the Lord now. My prayers and thoughts to the family.....

What a real POS, I can only hope he slips out of protective custody & some of the lifers in the joint get their hands on him. It would be too fitting but maybe the only real justice this perp will get.

As for the child, he is truly an innocent victim. At least he's now with the Lord, may he rest in piece.

The real problem lies with the voting public that won't hold politicians accountable for not enacting Capital punishment in cases where there is NO doubt.....it should be extended to rape, child molestation, kidnapping and house-breaking as well.....a problem we share here in Canada along with the rest of the liberal leaning world !
