As a point of curiosity, are all the white discs on SS armbands made of ribbed satin? Do any authentic bands have discs made of another material? Thanks.

different materials, pending on the whole armband style like pre RZM, BeVo machine stitched circle etc.

Grumpy, as Robert stated, it depends on the type of armband (as well as period)

However, if you are referring to the RZM type of armband that I think you are, the vast majority of them were indeed produced with ribbed satin roundels, with the ribs in the north/south configuration.

I WOULD BE VERY SUSPICIOUS OF ANY WOOL ARMBAND WITHOUT THE RIBBED MATERIAL
