I just noticed in the 'For Sale' section a couple of GDC badges. Now I don't want any of you collector/members taking this the wrong way, BUT, today, in May 2009, what are they really good for? I bought a gold badge 'way back when', when they were first for sale. #226. However, all these years later, of what value are they, except a sort of item to prove that you were an early member. I mean this in all respect, but what value are they now?

The only "value" they have is to know that you were an early member and a supporter of the site.I don't remember anyone saying they were to become treasures.
You know you're over the hill when "Happy Hour" means Nap Time

Dave, I attend the MAX every year. I didn't know that Craig still held the party. I remember when the badges came out, Craig's party was one of the perks.

He doesn't throw a party anymore*, but I heard that 317 Latvians turned up at the SOS with fake GDC badges looking for free drinks (joke) Dave * At least that I know of.

I have every faith that in 50 years, these original badges will be seen as legitimate WWII relics of a secret order within the early SA.
At least that is the story I am starting to push now.

Jim W: I don't know about the badges but C.G.s "beer blasts" will be remembered by me as some of the best times I had in this hobby. Jim m

Remember the year the fire dept had to lug all there equimpent up the 17 or so floors using the steps at the Max GDC (Craig) party.
Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. And remember the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
