Hello,
Just find this Heer dagger. Not rare, but very nice condition. I like this grip & burnishing crossguard.
Best regards. JC

Glorious monogram, I think it would be good for someone to start a monogram only thread so we can see all of the detailed variations in one place. I love this one......very art deco .

Matarese, Now that's a keeper! The artist who cut this really knew his business, that has to be one of the finest engraved monograms I've seen in a long time. Simple, elegant and perfectly done. It looks as though every line was well thought out and finished. Quite an excellent find! I wonder how hard it would be to find another Hller weapon engraved by the same man? That would be something to see ... Best! Bill

Reiny, I can take them either with or without the patina, that is, as long as the engraving is nice! There are always two distinct thoughts on the subject of cleaning, no doubt about that. When they're as beautiful as some of these fine examples I just try to appreciate them for what they are ... either way is lovely! Best! Bill

I agree, if a dagger looks good, it looks good, end of. I would also refrain from throwing insults around regarding some other collectors preferences.

Sorry I dont want to displease someone, I think you dont understand my intention right. The patination is a keeper of originality for the engraving (not the only but its one of the major points) and I like the patinated ones. Everyone as he wants. Someone like cleaned shining dagger and others like patinated uncleaned ones. I like the second ones if you know what I mean?
But I also like the one from Matarese! Its a very, very nice example!!
Greetings rieny

Beautiful dagger for sure!! I have seen 2 variations of the Holler logo,,is there more or just 2 ? This one has the lesser digits in the thermometer. Best Larry

Hi Siegfried. There are at least 3 variation of the Holler TM. I have counted 11, 17 and 19 ticks down One side of the thermometer on various army daggers. IMO the earlier the TM version the more ticks and the earlier the dagger. The 19 tick version is uncommon and there is one on Wittmann's site at the moment. I have started a new thread on Holler Tm variations

Matarese, The monogram is subdued elegance in a flowing art-deco form, which is artfully executed. -serge-
