The first fruits of the Vet acquired harvest were the best in its abundance, but what has been attained during that time....is only temporary, for in time it will belong to another. What goes around,,comes back around!! Nice banner Jim ,, would make a nice bed spread!! Big Grin Is that Tom Wittmanns SS Book on top of the banner?/ Nice touch! Razz Best Larry

Bedspread was my initial thought but wife wouldn't go along with it. Roll Eyes I thought Wittys book made a nice ballast piece to anchor this while I took pictures. I doubt if Tom would mind!

Yea, just getting a bit tired of the, "is this real" postings.
There are still awesome items coming out of the wood work every single day. Trust me when you get a piece like this it makes your day!

Another Point:
Either of the above two postings would have generated dozens of comments and questions in years gone by. This is one of the reasons in addition to what was stated above that most of us are averse to even bother posting new finds anymore.

Hi All:

Good Civil War related material still comes out of families at almost 150 years later. With the international scope of WW II, abundance of material produced, and so many more people involved, great stuff will still be coming out beyond our lifetimes. I am constantly hearing from family's inquiring about grandfather's, uncle's, dad's, etc. daggers and other relic they are now just being discovered. Be patient and enjoy the hunt! Had one inquiry recently where the SS dagger was discovered in grandpa's house after he just passed on. I uncovered that the dagger belonged to an SS officer in a concentration camp who was hanged in 1946 for war crimes. Help's make life interesting!

Here are 2 recent woodwork finds from TN!! One as luger that has original note from the vet that he wrote once he arrived home. Came with holster and 2 boxes of original bullets. The other is a Waa eagle proofed beretta with holster.

hdmarley,

May I inquire of the caliber of the Beretta and do you have a photo of the associated holster?

Thanks much,

John

Sure John! It was nice catching up with you at the SOS! Its a 7.65 Cal or .32 ACP and ill inlcude some pics of the holster that came with the gun from the vet as he acquired it over there. Im not sure if its the correct one as i cant find much info on the holsters of these berettas?

This gun is a 1935 model and uses the 7.65 cal or .32 ACP

A 1934 model uses a 9mm Browning short or .380 ACP.

Here is the back. It came with a vertical hanger really grungy with green crud ... which is why I cleaned it. See that little shadow at the lower part of the crossguard ?
