Ordered this resin kit, and I must say I was shocked at the size of this thing. Stands over 1 ft tall, I was expecting half the size, and indeed would have preferred something smaller.

On the + side, the larger size allows for more detail.
I'll post back as I make progress, might take weeks or months even.

Cool, look forward to seeing it after you sling some paint on him. Are you going to use airbrush or hand paint? 1/6 does seem to be the most popular scale on figure resin kits, know it's my favorite.

Gonna brush him, been doing models all my life but never took to an airbrush.

Looking forward to this one, simple, yet a challenge.
I gotta get some of that resin primer, do a little trimming and sanding, a little putty work, then the paint.
You can barely tell in the pic, but 2 of his knuckles in the hand holding the belt are flattened out, don't know if this was a shipping bobble or maybe a defect in the mold, not sure if I can do anything about that with putty.
I have figures like this wolf gal, shes probably bout 5 or 6 inches, and smaller ones in the background.
I thought Hitler would be about her size, obviously he towers over her ,,, Not sure if shes his type anyhow !
This size is just a bit too much for me, probably would not have gotten it if I realized it was that big, but I'll make the best of it.

Think this one ties with Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein for one of my favorite kits.

The paint definately makes it come to life.

Can't wait to see it another finished one with a few personalied touches.Best of luck with it.

I used to do monster models, way back in the mid 70's tho

Heres a little update on the progress I have made, for those of you interested in modeling process.

One thing that concerned me right off the bat was the arm. Resin is heavy, this arm has some weight to it.
On an ordinary model, super glue or airplane glue would be fine, but I knew 100% certain that neither would take the weight of the arm very long. If not days or weeks, then certainly within months, gravity would win the battle - And after it has been painted, it would be a royal pain to reattach it.
To make things worse, there were not even any pins or guides to interlock the mating pieces, just smooth surface.
So I took 2 O screws, threaded them into the resin arm, and cut the O's off with a dremel.
Drilled 2 corresponding holes in the mating surface, and in this fashion the pins take most of the weight of the arm.
To be doubly sure this stays on forever, I used JB Weld instead of ordinary glue.

A nasty crack is apparent on the attached arm - I was told of this flaw in advance by the seller, who included some filler putty.

Putty seems to have done the trick, should look all but unnoticeable once its painted.

Pocket Führer all primed up and ready to go - I used ordinary Rustoleum spray primer.
Will post back once some details start to emerge.

You've inadvertently done everything exactly right. These resin kits are much different than the Aurora or Revell kits we built back in the day.
Many times there are imperfections such as air bubbles, pinholes, gouges or the dreaded overlapping seam. Some require alot of preparation, just depends on how good the caster is. I always pin all parts large and small including pins to hold the figure to the base. Can't wait to see your paint up.

Not sure it was inadvertent, just common sense.
I have dozens of plastic airplane models, and many of them end up losing tails, bombs, missiles and landing gears over time, just sitting or hanging there.
So I figured in no way, shape or form was that arm going to stay on long simply glued on - And once it fell off, I, or whoever ends up with it, would have to sand the whole seam again, reglue it, re putty it, sand it, then hope to match the paint.

I could see all that happening clear as day, and hopefully these pins and jb weld will make all of that unnecessary.
I'm looking forward to painting it, I misplaced the box that has all my paints & brushes, hopefully it will turn up soon.
With the possible exception of the face, it should be fairly simple to do.

I'll probably have to rig something up for the feet as well, as this kit has no pins or guides at all to hold this heavy figure to the base.
