Anyone ever hear of this museum? They are from Lansing Michigan or is this just a front? They are running a huge two page ad here in my local paper looking for military items, says they are only buying and not selling. I really hate these guys that blanket a whole area like this. Fritz

Taking advantage of a bad economy I suppose..notice how much they will 'pay up to' in the one ad..however, your actual mileage may vary.

I know Bill, he's a decent enough guy, but yeah it can be hard to take when the guys pull up in your own backyard. Good to have some police friends make sure that they have all permits and things in order, and if someone hangs out in the nearby lot passing out "sell locally" flyers, well that's just a happy coincidence! he does more buying of gold than military stuff, but he scores some great pieces. You guys just gotta get out there too! Run those ads! (but if anyone pulls into Milwaukee, best be prepared...)

Jerry, I understand he has already been to Milwaukee, some time ago. I also do hotel buys, the biggest problem iam running into, is that the gold and silver guys are everywhere, a lot of them have military in the bottom of their ad, and really do not pay a lot for military, mainly because they do not know the good from the bad.Bill Cresent, being a military collector, knows his good and bad stuff.I have bought military from people who have already been to the gold and silver guys, and they really lowball them. thanks Bob

Hi Bob, I knew Crescent was here, as a matter of fact, I had even sent one of my friends to help him out with traffic control at the hotel. But he really didn't pull a whole lot of military, but did well on the gold. We had 3 hotel buyers hitting in the same week. poor planning on someones part.
This area has been picked several times, and with the "Brothers 3" living here, there is not a whole lot to go around.
You are spot on on the gold & silver guys, I have guys bring in stuff all the time that the hotel guys shot them in the toes on. But yet people will still sell to them. The "Treasure Hunters Roadshow" are a pretty big outfit (and claim to even be getting their own TV show) although they apparently had a series of checks bounce!
It is just frustrating when I as a local business owner have to adhere to all kinds of licensing requirements and buying & selling regulations, and these "fly by night" coin buyers pop in and buy WWII US wings for scrap value!

Motel buyers are a relatively unknown entity in Canada..only 33 + million people inhabiting the second largest country on the planet.
Too much distance to travel for a scant return.

I think I may have run into that outfit. If they are who I think they are, they don't get that much militaria. At least, not a lot that they display in the mall.
