Hi all,

I received this one this week.I got it off Ebay for less than a $100.The blade has been sharpened, but besides that,it is in relative good shape.I am really happy with this one,as I learned that the TM is pretty scarce.

Looking forward for your comments.

Kind regards,Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

A sweet mark & one not often seen on a Feuerwehr bayonet. In fact, I've seen only one other piece with this mark & that piece, listed on a dealer's site, had a questionable double etch so I discounted the entire piece. This piece looks to have an Eickhorn pommel & crossguard so from your pictures, I'd have to think this is an original late war piece by Eick.

Has anyone else seen an "over the shoulder" Eick fire bayonet?

Jeremy, that style of TM is difficult to find. In an FW I would say that it's one I would look for if I was a TM collector only. I have one in the army style, pioneer hilt. I would like to pick one up later in imitatoin stag, I've only seen a couple.

When it comes to FW's and knowledge Billy G. can give you some of the best info. He's compiled alot of information over the years.

Steve.

I do have the same mark on an unissued long walk out dress bajonet which reputedly came (together with several other EICKHORN unissued edged weapons) from a closed EICKHORN retailer shop at the end of the war.
Sorry, have no pics from it.

Reputedly it has been the local EICKHORN shop. And, no, these edged weapons never have been "liberated" but stayed "at home" Cool.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you liked the pics of the Pioneer. You guys all post some really neat things to see. Seeing your stuff is a benchmark, I keep looking for more.

John, you've posted some really killer pieces lately yourself. And I must apologize to all of you for not commenting when I see the posts. Sometimes it's just a time constraint, thinking I'll get back to it.

Always best regards, Steve.
