Thought I'd post my one and only 1st Luft, this one is marked Eickhorn, not much gilt left on the swas's but who cares.Personalised on the reverse top scabbard mount.

Hey hey!

Nice one, I do so like the personalised touch.

In my opinion the 1st pattern luft is the definitive dress accoutrement. Made from quality materials with an aesthetic feel that the 2nd pattern does not quite match. Not many dress daggers tick all the boxes as these do.

I will always have time for them at any show, you never know what you might end up holding.

Excellent Gary

The inscription is

"In Treue verbunden" not "In Treue Verbinden"

so far....
its an very nice dagger, wish I could add it to my collection.

Gary,

Very nice indeed. I agree with you, who cares about the loss of gilt. It's a nice Eick with super personalization, just a pretty piece.

Beautiful piece!! I have four of these and my Eichorn has an oval around the squirrel.Would that make it an earlier or later piece?

Your Eickhorn piece with the squirrel within a double oval is earlier and quite sought after.

I had a feeling you guys would appreciate this piece, it's just a nice 1st luft with great personalisation, I've only ever seen one other.

Cheers

Gary
