Has anyone the SS-HR document in the official frame? I would be interested to see how the official frame looks like?

According to Don Boyle's first book, the approved maker of the award frames was "GEORG BRAUN MARKT GRAFING, MARKT PLATZ BERLIN. Whether they were the sole official manufacturer, I don't know.

Wouldn't it be funny if the "official" TK Ring document FRAME was still in it's original wrapper, and it said, "FITS ANY DOCUMENT!!" ????

I recenlty found one document from the SS Hauptamt for the recipient where it is mentioned (registered mail) 1 HR ring, 1 award document, 1 frame. For my view a very interesting record.

The issue of the frame is covered in my book, which is, incidentally, now available (we get the first copies in tomorrow). I won't spoil the whole treatment of the frame in the book, but Don is correct that in ONE instance, some frames were ordered for SOME documents. We have evidence, which I show in the book. However, the same evidence shows that this was not a "global SS item." Subsequent to the writing of the book, I came across a document in the original shipping envelope (from the SS to the recipient). In this case, it was delivered to the recipient in a regular envelope, with a cardboard insert to protect it from becoming bent.

The document is from January 1942 from the SS Führungshauptamt to the receipient.

When I get this group I will send one link to my website about it.

That is excellent. This further confirms that some documents were indeed delivered with frames (or noodles, if you don't speak German - Rahmen Wink ).

Nice Robert! Thanks for posting...

Big question is ,,,is it just a plain wood frame? ,,or is it something special...

I have no Idea how the frame looked like.
I saw and got TK documents loose w/o any frame, and have seen some in whatever frames.
