This badge has the coat of arms of Munich, with the monk. it measures 2,4x3cm. It has two spongs on the backside; maybe it was for a cap?

During the Third Reich period there was placed the Reichs-eagle with swastica above the monk, 1936-1945 (Wikipedia) ; so maybe it is earlier or later…

What period is this badge and what was its purpose. Something official?

It looks to be of period manufacture..... Possibly a tourist badge?

Here is one of my "tourist" badges. It is tiny, only about 1.5cm high....

Benten,

Thank you for posting this piece. I do not recall having seen a prong setup quite the same.

Also am used to seeing Deschler Munchen 9 or Deschler & Sohn Munchen 9

I did see some 90 marked pieces online but the items I have seen so far were listed as post WWII.

I will keep looking.

Hello Joe,

That is a very nice little badge with the Reichsadler above the monk.
Yes, I agree that Deschler München 9 is more common.

Just a try , I found on internet a badge : Traditions Abzeichen 5.Gebirgs Division Deschler München 90 .
so far as I can see the front of the badge, looks bad treated, but IMHO it is authentic badge.

There must be an explanation why 9 and 90 .

Here a picture of another Deschler München 90.

I read that in 1960 Deschler moved from Wirthstraße in Munich to Feldkirchen. Can anyone corroborate?
Could that be when the 9 changed to 90 ?
Looking for some advertisements to research this thought.
