Hello how rare are 21-6-44 honor rings? Are they desirable comparatively speaking? Can anyone find or locate the name Jahn as awarded 21-6-44 ? Thanks cheers and best regards, Ryan S

IMO rings of 44 not rare, because the further it went, the more simplified the rules for issuing rings were, which meant their mass production began.
The rarest I think are the first 3-4 years, in my opinion.

Hello sellick8302@rogers.com, let me fist say that I have a "Jahn 21.6.44" in my files. The ring was shown in march 2012 at WAF and was a CLEAR FAKE! Naturally there might be an original one with these datas but please be VERY careful!
BTW I have also a "Hahn 21.6.44" ring in my evidences which seems obviously to be an original one.

Concerning the rareness: Imho that cannot be stated that clear. Generally let us say that original honor rings are very rare eg. in regard of knight´s crosses (or other prominent, rare awards) and in most times the rings can be attributed (which is not the case with most knight´s crosses or it is always a case of believing).
Between the rare original rings those from 44 might be "common". Yes 6.44 is more "common" but 12.44 is imho very rare. In my (between 400-500 rings in evidence) there are 43 with the "6.44" date and only 12 with the "12.44" date!
And eg .34 rings are "quite common", I have 83 in my files and eg .36 there are 51 in my files!

Regards,

Hello Wotan thanks for the information. For forum members interest Wotan did not have a link but showed me several images of the Jahn fake. My example is not the same ring it has a different date and many differences in construction Thanks Gaspare regards to all, Ryan
