Hello, guys!

Bought this ring a few days ago. It’s a ground dug ring in a really bad condition. But it have an interesting moment - unusual phrase on it. Have this type of skull without letters on it too.
I saw many rings with “WEST FRONT” or without. But here is another phrase.
Maybe anyone saw this type of ring or can read this?
I can see ..O*EN- at left side and FEL… on the right side
Osten Feldzug?

Wow,, now thats been thru hell!.. I'm surprised the joining/sizing seam held. Usually that bad and they'll pop...

Well can't make out what that says at all on the band.. - * Members,,do you have a ring like this? with something other than WestWall /WestFront on the band? Please if you can help out and post it. Or even a advert or someone else's [its fine to post]...

It's all there ,,looks cool. There were small contracted out batches of rings where maybe 100 or even 50 I've heard were custom made for a group of men. Presents, Thank yous, etc. A nice addition to the collection.

Now there are collectors who won't touch a ring like this. Think is has no value .. Well they're dead wrong. Its got the historical value!,,its been there,,,not from sitting wrapped up in a box for 70+ years! Its a survivor. I would love to see a piece like this come up from the ground. Even now, I like to have a pattern in fine condition,,well worn condition,,and yes a nice old dug condition too. I like 'em all! -

Good catch ,,,and hopefully someone will know what was on the sides.....

Gaspare, ty for u answer!

Most of mine ground dug rings from alpacca (or neulsiber) have not damaged band. But 80% of mine silver rings have damaged band.

All rings from this photos is ground dug

VERY nice!!! Thats one of the really nice Lion head patterns,,,quite rare to find todayl

The 'Gorilla Skull' at the right end wasn't in the ground for to long or protected in some way/.. Eyes either had the silver wash or red paint when new.. Nice condition,,,all of them..

- * Do you just collect dug examples of rings?,,, or everything!

That one on the right, just above, is interesting. I don't collect rings, but I'd buy that one.

once you buy one Dave its all over! wink

- They say that pattern was for those who received the WW1 knights cross.. But just like WW2 its private purchase, anyone with the money could get/give one... I'll try and find a advert to see IF it says anything about criteria for buying one.. The full enamel ones are very nice looking ring..

Wonderful!, very nice... Thanks for posting..... All the rings at bottom are pretty hard to find anymore.. WW1 rings don't go for much but its in a steady incline...

Theres a topic with WW1 rings advertisements but I couldn't find it.. Here's a few other real nice ones:
