Here we have a couple of rare membership badges for the Reichsbund der Körperbehinderten for members of the NSV. The ones that most often turn up are the standard badge for those who were not members of the NSV & these do not have the little box at the bottom with the "m.d. NSV" in it

The stickpin & badge & also the Besitzzeugnis.

If anyone here as examples, please show them..

And just on case anyone is unfamiliar with the more common badge without the letters at the bottom, here it is....

I have seen images of both types but have never had an example.

If physically handicapped/disabled due to combat could a trooper qualify for this badge or would they fall under another of the organizations? Was this strictly a civil award for men and women?

Joe, I'm not too sure, but from what I understand, the RBK was people who were born physically disabled. It grew out of the Selbsthilfebund der Körperbehinderten, also known as the Otto Perl Bund named after one of the the founders, Otto Pearl which was dissolved in 1931. Their goal was to promote the "economic and social equality of the cripple within human society". It should be noted here that the now outdated term "cripple" was used for "all those people who had externally visible physical damage".

Combat troops from both wars had the Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung which we know as the NSKOV formed in 1934 plus there had been a number of earlier organisations such as the Bund der Kriegsteilnehmer und Kriegsbeschädigten, Bund Deutscher Kriegsgeshädigter, & Bund der Kriegsblinden Deutschlands e.V. to name just three. I guess that they could have joined the RBK but I doubt that they would have wanted to.
