Some sort of waidblatt, could be a Dula.

No its not a Dula, this is an all stag grip, my best guess would be an Eickhorn Bowie model 1433, the eickhorn and backhaus bowie knives are pretty similar.

Cheers

Ger, very close on your guess, that was a difficult picture to even get an idea of what it is.

It's a Henckels, one that is not pictured with a sawback blade in the Henckels catalouges that I have, I suspect it was a special order. I'm looking forward to doing some research on this one.

Beautiful piece Gary, i had noticed differences in closing strap lenght and the leather tip fitting, as it went upwards instead of down like the Eickhorn.
I did encounter a similar Henckels on a show a couple of years ago, but in that bad shape that it wasnt mu cup of tea, it lacked the saw, just had a plain ridge.
Its always a thrill to discover a new model or variant, makes the hunt worth while!

Thx for showing, i fancy it!

Ger
