Hello collectors!

Thought, I would ask who are some of your favorite makers?

Maybe some are army! Some Luft!

But lets say it Eickhorn! Why do you like them!

What about Robt. Klass! Lets see some! Did they make different types of daggers!

I had a nice railroad by them!

Tiger,Puma,Wkc. You get the idea!

SMF, Gold swas on luft!

Doesn't have to be rare ,just something you like about that maker!

Early period or plated blade or polished!

I loved the look of some just by the color of handle!

Love the glass ones! Tiger and who else!

Boy I would be hard pressed to pick my top 5 for many reasons!

Just having fun!

Thanks for adding fellas!

Hello Tanker

Glad to see you post your really nice armies!

Some beauties you have!

Long as they are army, thats what counts!

Nothing wrong with that!

Now some might like a dagger for their blades!

Or gilding if they have any, engraving, hand enhanced fittings!

I don't know all the reasons some folks might like a maker!

Thats why I ask! Some of you really know them in detail!

I think its important to gather that info even if some of you advanced collectors
might have thought everyone knows!

I wish I had kept Tom Wittmans army, luft etc!

He really did some good work!

I know some of you have daggers in books!

Its been fun learning and seeing stuff even after all these years!

This was my first Army and for a long time after was my only Army. Purchased in the glory days of Eban from the vet's daughter. As a newbie, I remember reading all sorts of horror stories about Plumacher blades but those were the embellished ones. Even without experience, I had a sense this one was untouched and period. It's got great a great blade, uniform patination and a wonderfully hand finished crossguard and pommel. A great logo too. You never forget your first so why would I ever sell it?

Thanks Kevin. Yes it’s an early example with a tapered tang but sadly not the earliest with a slant grip. Always loved this one.

For sure my all time favorite, my HARTKOPF (double devils heads trademark) army. After a very blurry photograph (you have to learn to "read" even such blurry pics if the hunt is it worth), an email agreement and a drive of 750 kilometers one direction (a friend of mine who did drive with me only announced "this will never become real") on a highway station the grandson of the former wearer sold me this up to now one-of-a-kind gem. With the luft portepee attached like it had been always worn with this dagger.
Regards,

Oddly once I started looking for it I found 4 didn't know I had 4. That's what happens when you quit collecting. ASSO has to be my fav. On the makers mark.

Bret can you show the complete dagger, as what im seeing is an Eickhorn scabbard, not a part that ASSO used.
