This copper ring has a thin silverwash and is marked on the backsiide . The text on the ring is from a song with the same title. There was more merchandising on the Battle of Britain .

Very nice ring, Benten. Are sure it’s not made of brass rather than copper? I had a near identical one but it might have been made of silver, and therefore might be a postwar copy. I‘m not 100% convinced of that. Here’s a link to that discussion: https://forum.germandaggers.com/ubb...708&Words=Fahren+&Search=true#Post339277

Pretty rare the nazis sold a ring of a failed campaign! But they didn't. They took pre orders and sold a few different patterns before they started losing the Battle of Britain.
Bentens correct. They sold a lot of merchandise as he shows.. I've also seen records, puzzles, and there was even more waiting to come out before things went bad..
As mentioned they were 'messing'. They had a very weak silver wash done to them that soon came off after just a few times being worn.. Good friend and member BadBob got me a great story with photos of a Canadian Vet that brought one home ..
I've had a worn smooth example for many years. About 15 years ago I managed to get a boxed example in almost perfect condition...

Mikee, thank you!
Gaspare, your ring and also the period box are in a excellent condition ; Having it together in your collection is top and very rare to find ! it would be nice to have the different types of these rings here.
Stephen, shooting pics is my hobby.
“ Wir fahren gegen Engelland “ exsisted already from WW1. On “YouTube “, one can find the songs …….WW1 and WW2.

Found a picture on internet......... of a litle brooch of a plane with paratrooper , text: “ Wir fahren gegen Engelland”. Made as a souvenir for the Battle of Britain.
German airforce crew that was shot down above England , landed by parachute… (and if alive, were captured ).
The most famous German man that landed by parachute in England was…… Hess , 1941.
The brooch implies that there were German paratroopers, sent to England …..As far as i know Germay did not sent paratroopers....... ?
Yes, an interesting brooch .

Benten,
Looks like a Messerschmitt BF 110. The were used in large number in the Battle of Britain and shot down because of lack of maneuverability. I'd guess at this being for shot down air crews.

Dave, it's a Heinkel 111. The Me 110 had a twin tail and the He111 had that distinctive shape of wings. Cheers.

You are correct.
I still see more linkage to an aircrew bail out than to paratroops.

Makes sense to me. There would not have been enough room in an HE111 for more than a few paratroops. The one on the brooch looks like he was dead before he jumped...

Germans had paratroops and if things went well they probably would have used them...
