Hello!

I‘m fairly new to collecting SS Daggers and wanted to show you this chained dagger, which has a magnetic chain, so I assume that it must be a Type I chain and a M36 dagger which is also unbranded.

The look is pretty consistent and used, with wood chipping on the grip and a SS number on the crossguard (which is not listed in the Dienstalterliste).

The links look in my opinion good as there are no wee holes or imperfections from casting.
The outcuts are also straight edged and the runes and skullheads look authentic IMO.

I‘m just wondering myself why the cloverleaf is broken? Like it got screwed at some point?

But could the more experienced collectors take a look? It’s currently offered for around 4,5k €.

Yours

Hello Blueprint,

The chain on this M36 SS looks period, it's a C-type , which is a later made chain.
It appears like something has been attached to the cloverleaf, maybe some insignia? It does not look like it is broken on these pictures?

The dagger itself is disappointing, especially the blade, which has been re tipped abd sharpened...
In my opinion, it would be wise to wait for a better one to spend 4,5 k EUR on.

Best regards,

Herman

Thanks for your replys!

I'll keep my hand off that one. It's really sad that the blade got broken and retipped.
And for the price that's too much.

Thank you!

I would agree that for €4500 you could do a whole lot better.
