Looking for some opinions on this dagger. Original or post war fake? I'm including lots of pictures. Thanks in advance for all your feedback.

Hello Mauser88, unfortunately dagger and box are bad to the bone. Not even close to an original one. Sorry for the bad news,
regards,

Aside from the obvious scabbard differences, I see several other differences from an original Horster. Some type of nouveau superfake?

No idea. Can you please be more specific on exactly what you don't like?

Two things that jump out are the thickness of the crossguard and leather buffer pad. As well as the details on the scabbard eagle. Compared to a period HJ Leader, there are more.

Hello Billy G, I do know this fake since years. Beside the outer form there is no detail equal to an original HJleader dagger and the scabbard is even more a phantasy product.

Wotan hit the nail on the head, but want Dave to know I didn't miss his request just a little late. As I remember, these first appeared in the late 1970s.
